At Animal Adventures Academy, our mission is to educate about the animal world through hands on, interactive programs. Our school will follow the same mission, as your child learns the skills to help them along their path towards independence or a potential career in a fun, safe, engaging environment. Led by our trained staff and the zoo's founder Dr. Edward Laquidara, your child can get a unique education unlike any in New England.

We are a USDA licensed zoo, a state recognized educational facility and rescue center, and we are permitted by the US Fish and Wildlife for migratory birds.

As a family zoo we have always prioritized education, with programs geared towards getting children of all ages (even adults) excited about the animal world. Our Goal at Animal Adventures Academy is to compound this with agricultural skills in an experimental alternative school setting. As we grow, we plan to make Animal Adventures a self-sustaining facility, growing our own crops and maintaining our own populations to enrich the lives of our animals.

Over the course of their time here, we hope to provide your child with the skills to become self-sufficient with us, earning an education that will enrich their lives as well.

Special classes with Dr. Rob Nicholson of Post Road Veterinary Hospital in Charlton, Ma

Dr. Rob is our Vet who is the one responsible for our health plan for all of our animals. He is an exceptional veterinarian and has been working with exotics for many years. Throughout the school year, students will get to have classes taught by Dr. Rob and hands on lesson on animal examinations.

Why Animal Adventures Academy?

Hands on Learning!

Activities-based and interactive class time increases the effectiveness of your child's learning to engage all levels of interest.

Close-Knit Teaching

Small child-to-teacher ratios ensure your child's growth through more personalized attention.

Career Oriented

Skills to grow your child's self-confidence and self-reliance to pursue possible careers in the animal-related fields.

Customizable Curriculum

Create an individualized learning experience by choosing courses and subjects that best suit your child and their goals.

PLUS.... No Snow Days! This means your child will finish the year on time regardless of the weather throughout the year. All online curriculum can be completed at home on snow days and if you have the ability to come in to the zoo to continue learning here that is possible because our full-time staff does not call out for snow days. We still need to take care of the animals so your student is welcome to come in for the day if it is safe.
